The shift
Callan spent years working mines across Australia and Botswana. Every shift began the same way — pulling on a pair of safety glasses that did the job and looked like equipment. Every shift ended by taking them off the moment he was off the clock.
The gap
The gap was obvious once you had lived it. Rated eyewear that felt like PPE. Sunglasses that looked right but were certified for nothing. Nobody was making a single pair that did both — protection you could trust in front of a rock face, in a frame you would keep on for the drive home, the trail run and the weekend ride. Eyewear made for people who are always on the move.

The pitch
Callan had the product, but needed help. So Callan flew from Botswana to London for one conversation: to ask a friend who had exactly what he was missing to leave his life behind and build a new one in South Africa, the two of them at the helm. He could not make it without Joe, and he crossed the world to prove it. Joe said yes.
